On March 20th, 2014 Vigier Guitars artist Chris Buono put on a benefit show to help one of his close friends and mentors, John Clarizio of Clarizio Music Studios in Point Pleasant, NJ, with his battle against oral cancer. The event was billed as "With a Little Help From My Friends" and it was exactly that. Held at longtime friend Scott Stamper's venue, The Saint in Asbury Park, NJ, Chris called upon two other friends he goes way back with: Keith Carlock (drums) and Steve Jenkins (bass). Sharing the stage with fellow guitarist and Dweezilla partner-in-crime, Oz Noy, the two lauded jazz/funk-rock effect purveyors treated the near capacity crowd to an incredible afternoon of music from both Buono and Noy. Their set was preceded by another old friend of Chris' — the inimitable Charlie Hunter — who performed a rare solo set of mesmerizing arrangements on his custom Traugott guitar.

With the exception of two tunes Buono and Noy played on each other's tunes with Keith and Steve. Here Chris plays a Vigier Excalibur Surfreter fretless guitar during his solo on a Oz Noy tune called "Twisted Blues" from Noy's release, Twisted Blues Vol. 1. Propelled by a trio of DiMarzio pickups specifically chosen for the Surfreter model by one of Chris' earliest supporters, Steve Blucher, the performance as well as the entire day was among friends for a cherished friend.
