Whispering Knees

Whispering Knees was a progressive alternative rock band from Newbury, Berkshire. The band originally formed in 2003 and cited an eclectic and diverse array of artists as major influences (see influences). The end result however, is always unmistakably Whispering Knees.



After spending their first year of existence writing original material and developing their sound, the band started gigging extensively throughout the UK. Whispering knees were regulars at various festivals and events including an opening slot for The Mystery Jets at the now defunct Fez Club in Reading.



The band recorded five EP's during their existence, four were self-produced and one was produced by reputable live sound engineer Jim Warren at Keynote Studios, part of LOAD Media Productions in Burghfield, Berkshire. Jim has worked with the likes of Radiohead, Peter Gabriel and Nine Inch Nails.
Unfortunately Whispering Knees disbanded in September 2008 for numerous reasons. The band played their last ever show at The Cellar Bar, Bracknell in July 2008.
