One of our recent videos is about drum splitter cables and how they work:

This time we decide to go for a different concept, a drumsplitterbox.

We made 2 prototype boxes. A small one and a larger one.

There have to be holes in the plastic box for the jack plugs. We didn’t have a drill so we used a file instead.

The 3 jack plugs are attached and have to be connected to each other in the right way.

The principle is the same than for the splitter cable. You will find more info about that in the related video.

You can see with the help of the numbers, how the contacts are connected to each other. The Resistor has to have a 100Kohm resistance.

The smaller box we made seems handier. But the jack plugs are not the best ones and the space inside of the box is too small. The plugs fit in, but they are only clued and it’s really hard to remove the jack cables. It’s just a matter of time until the jack plugs get loose.

We tried out different kinds of mono and stereo jack plugs. It is really hard to remove the jack cables on most of them. The best ones are the ones we used in the bigger splitter box. But they need room.

This splitter cables are suitable for the following models: TD-9, TD-11, TD-12, TD-15, TD-20, TD-30
