A song from the finals of Split Song Festival 1989. The main competition offered 32 new songs, 24 of which made it to the finals."Zabranjena ljubav" is included on Simona's Slovenian album "Sanje so vse kar imam" (1989) and on her Croatian album "Zapali noć" (1990).

Simona Weiss is a Slovenian singer, who caught an eye of the public in 1984 when she entered Miss Slovenia competition and finished second. In 1985 she was crowned as the most photogenic Yugoslav girl. She was awarded at a world disco dancing competition in Japan in January, and debuted on the Yugoslav festival stage at Opatija 1986. The same year, she had her debut at the Macedonian Makfest, a festival where she will come back four more times, and crown it with the Second Audience Award on her last appearance in 1991 ("Ti si mojata pesna"). She also had few other occasional festival performances - Split 1989 ("Zabranjena ljubav"), Mesam 1990 ("Zapali noć" - Best Interpretation Award). In 1990s she married her longtime partner and producer Goran Šarac.
