DESCRIPTION:
The Holler Where I Was Born

I had troubles I had trials back in my younger days
And they took me where I did not want to go
Now Im so far away from my home back in the mountains
I miss her more than you could ever know
Lord take me back.to the holler where I was born

I miss the mornin fog sittin heavy on the mountain
And the old dirt road that led up to our home
And the song the evenin frogs would sing down by the fishin hole
I reckon they dont even know Im gone
Lord take me back.to the holler where I was born

Now, Im stuck here in this city
And I live out in the streets
I aint never felt so all alone
I might wake up on a park bench
If I wake up at all
Ill wake up a thousand miles from home

So when I die take me back to my home up in the mountains
And those frogs can eulogize me while they mourn
But when Jesus comes to wake me on that resurrection morning
I want to wake up in the holler where I was born
Lord take me back.to the holler where I was born
