DESCRIPTION:
I've been wanting to do something with the videos from Thief 2 for a long time now, and they actually suited Ideamen pretty well so I figured I'd try out my new laptop's video editing capabilities.

The video files are from an eleven year old game, so they weren't in widescreen, were low resolution and were using a really old codec, so they're not the greatest media to work with, but it still came out pretty cool.

Thief 2 was the second (obviously) game in the Thief series from Looking Glass Studios and Eidos. It was by far my favorite of the Thief series, although supposedly Thief 4 is in the works. Might be pretty damn cool thanks to the major advances in technology over the past decade!

The subject matter of the song doesn't really have anything to do with the video, but the overall tone of the May You Live In Interesting Times album actually ties in really well with the overall tone of Thief. Plus, Dave (Solar, lead singer of Ideamen) is a fan of steampunk, and Thief has those elements as well, so it was a pretty good marriage of the two.

The video was made with Windows Live Movie Maker, as I don't have a new enough version of Premiere for the new laptop. The audio was recorded by me as well back in 2009 in Cubase.
