A: (b. ledger lines) In Rock a my Soul, notes above or below the staff are called ledger lines. NOTE: In music, sequences are restatements of musical motives at a higher or lower pitch level. There are two types, real and tonal sequences. A REAL sequence has exactly the same intervals. For example, a REAL sequence C-D-E is D-E-F# (all whole steps). A TONAL sequence of C-D-E is B-C-D (slightly different intervals).
