Sonny Best Band

It's been a few years since the Sonny Best Band first got together. They formed in 2003-fueled by the love of pure country n' western music. Since that time, they've earned a solid reputation in their home region of Montreal/Ottawa and throughout Canada as being a genuine article. The songs are rooted in tradition and delivered in a style that's all their own. True to their influences -the legends of the genre, the band has put together a catalogue of tunes based on country's classic themes- cryin', lovin', and leavin', and they've thrown in a few cuts about cuttin' loose for good measure. Without any pretension or gimmicks, the Sonny Best Band is in it for the love and it shines through in the tunes.



The stage show is the band's bread and butter- the Sonny Best Band has fine-tuned their live show through years of live performance and always deliver with energy and showmanship. The boys know how to please their crowd with their timeless hooks, country looks, and pure honky tonkin'. Sonny Best personally guarantees everyone will go home happy. A few might even get lucky.



A staple of the Montreal music scene, the Sonny Best Band has welcomed some of the city's finest players into the line-up over the years, and are now rolling along as a five piece unit. The line up features the incomparable Sonny Best up front on vocals and guitar, Radar on lead Guitar, Bud McGee keeping things tight on the skins, while Cliff Stevens holds'er down on bass.



The band's debut- 'Boots, Camera, Action' drew critical acclaim upon it's 2005 release and received airtime on country radio across Canada. Never ones to rest on their laurels, the band has spent the last two years on the stage and in the studio writing and recording their follow-up record 'All The Best'.



With the new record scheduled for release in early 2009, the band is gearing up to hit the dirt and road test the new cuts. The future is looking good for the boys and they're excited to hit the road, pack a few clubs, drink a few beers, and show some folks a good time.
