Debussy - Sirenes (Trois Nocturnes) Tortelier HD - Video
PUBLISHED:  Aug 21, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
Debussy wrote about this piece "Sirènes depicts the sea and its countless rhythms and presently, amongst the waves silvered by the moonlight, is heard the mysterious song of the Sirens as they laugh and pass on".

This unique recording features a girls choir which makes this music sound particularly haunting and seductive. One can believe he is hearing real mermaids (who after all suppose to be young girls). Debussy was a great master of harmony and color, and this is one of his most original and gorgeous scores (Written in 1899!).

Conducted by Yan Pascal Tortelier and the Ulster symphony with Grosvenor high school choir on Chandos.

Watch in 1080p for the best quality.
