Thing Called Hope - Ballard/Garner co-write (Original Song) Bear Den - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jul 26, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
A message to all my YT bear brother and sisters. "Have Hope."

Thing Called Hope is a re-write of a 2006 Ballard/Garner song called Hope. Garner wrote all the original lyrics including the great line about the mother in law. Ballard wrote all the original music. That version is no longer on YT, but I may upload it someday. I completely reworked the song, and re-wrote new parts. Brian also has a new version that I have not even heard.

We uploaded a version with Brian singing lead and playing piano @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMHQnkTDkLI Take a listen.

The story starts with verse 3, and then moves on to verse 1 and 2. "A Doctor gave me a week or two to live... That's when I dropped to my knees" ... and found hope." After people find faith, they have hope and only then learn to cope.

Enjoy this 2014 Guitar version.

Music by J. Brian Ballard. Robert B Barron

My old dog Jack passed away the other day.
Now my mother in law says she’s moving in to stay.
I hate this dang job, down at the old mill.
My pay is growing smaller, I’m so broke it can’t be real.
It’s a good thing I learned how to cope.
I use a Crazy Little Thing Called Hope.

The weather man said, enjoy blue skies today.
I bumped my knee on the car, and then I threw my new phone away.
I was late for my shift, my leg was screaming in pain.
The boss was on a rampage, and then it started to rain.
It’s a wonder I know how to cope.
I use a Crazy Little Thing Called Hope.

You might be lost in a crowd.
You might feel like screaming out loud.
Some days you’ll just want to run.
You might be down on your luck,
Or you lose your last buck,
But if you are backed against the rope.
Try this Crazy Little Thing Called Hope.

Hope is like cool water, when you are standing in the sun.
Hope is like a rainbow, when it’s all been said and done...

My Doctor gave me another week or two to live.
And so I dropped to my knees, and prayed God would forgive.
That’s when I learned how to cope.
I found my Crazy Little Thing Called Hope.

It really really just doesn’t matter,
If there is hail or rain or snow.
It really really just doesn’t matter,
(Cause) I found the secret to cope.
It’s this Crazy Little Thing Called Hope.

It’s a good thing I’ve learned how to cope.
It’s a good thing I’ve learned how to cope.
It’s a good thing I’ve learned how to cope.
With this Crazy Little Thing Called Hope.
A Crazy Little Thing Called Hope.
