Country Beast - Munich Country Company Pedal Steel Solo - Video

DESCRIPTION:
Munich Country Company

Munich Country Company
The musical origins of the MCC are the Pedal Steel Player Gunther Dachs and the Guitarist Fred Artmeier jun. At the age of 22 Fred started his career as a studio musician with his guitar and in his forties he became a music editor at the Bavarian Broadcasting Company. Now at the age of 65 he resumed his guitar playing and composing.
Gunther studied economics. After many years of work as IT Manager in a world-wide German company he one day put into practice the sleeping idea of becoming a country musician. He left behind the big business and set off as a free man devoting himself to a very special country instrument -- the Pedal Steel Guitar. Due to the characteristics of this instrument (it sure is a lifelong task and challenge) -- sometimes sweet, sometimes almost indomitable -- Fred, the composer, named his composition "Country Beast". Gunther completed the title with soloistic ideas and performance.
By the way, Gunther and Fred know each other since the early days of elementary school.

This first joint project is rounded off by the following musicians -- or let us say friends:

Ro Clausman, a German country guitar player, who nowadays is on stage as guitar soloist after having been member of several professional German bands.

Gunther Gebauer, one of the most famous bass players in German music studios (especially with his funky bass style). He is internationally highly regarded with range of action up to Los Angeles.

Benny Gebauer, elder brother of Gunther Gebauer, was No 1 in clarinet and saxophone in Munich and other German studios. Later on he became one of Europe's best arrangers from Big Band sound to Pop music. For us he played the harmonica.

Werner Schmitt is a wonderful drummer in the German music scene. By his perfect technique and timing as well as his rhythmical feeling he convinces every listener.

Manuela van Hoof's job behind the camera was very much appreciated. Many thanks also to Reinhard Kiendl, sound technician.
