[Backpack] is the 1st regular album that Geek’s is releasing since their debut. For the one chance they have with ‘1st regular album’, they portrayed the ‘love’ and ‘life’ they experienced into music, and focused on expressing them in the song. They erased all commercial parts from the song and focused on the music itself, so they did not add any previously released tracks into the album. So [Backpack] is an album where the album itself is complete, and made up of choices for the fans. Geek’s musical skills that shine in it are the additions.

『Backpack』は、ギックスがデビュー2年ぶりに初めて発表するフルアルバムである。
ギックスは、自分たちに与えられた‘1stフルアルバム’というたった一度のチャンスのために、
彼らが経験した‘愛’と‘人生’を音楽に昇華させて一枚のアルバムの中に盛り込むことに作業の焦点を合わせた。
商業性を排除し、作品性にすべてをかけて既存の発表曲は一曲も収録しなかった。
つまり『Backpack』は、一枚のCDそれ自体で完結性をもったフルアルバムをファンに披露するための選択の連続で作られたアルバムと言える。その中で宝石のように輝くギックスの洗練して優れた音楽の感覚は一種のボーナスである。

[Backpack]은 긱스가 데뷔 2년 만에 처음으로 발표하는 정규 음반이다. 긱스는 자신들에게 주어진 ‘정규 1집’이라는 단 한 번의 기회를 위하여 그들이 겪은 ‘사랑’과 ‘인생’을 음악으로 승화시켜 하나의 음반 안에 온전히 담아내는 것에 작업의 초점을 맞추었다. 상업성을 배재하고 작품성에 올인한 나머지 기존에 발표된 트랙은 단 한 곡도 수록하지 않았다. 즉 [Backpack]은 한 장의 CD 그 자체로도 완결성을 갖춘 정규 음반을 팬들에게 들려주기 위한 선택의 연속으로 만들어진 음반이라고 할 수 있다. 그 안에서 보석처럼 빛나는 긱스의 세련되고 탁월한 음악적 감각은 일종의 보너스다.
