The So Cold project was born by a deep attraction for sad yet catchy tunes, so “If you are a fan of finnish gothic metal from the 90’es I can recommend you this band” (Metal Revolution). Mik, Teo and Max were first involved in a death metal outfit named Maelstrom which never obtained a single blaze of glory. Teo also played in the first line-up of Rhapsody of Fire when the group was still called Thundercross. In those early days Jure was the main songwriter. With the entrance of Ste on drums a reliable nucleus was easily reached. The melodic and melancholic sound of So Cold steadily developed with time, from winter 2004 to the long awaited release of their first official and self-produced demo “A touch of…” (Fandango Studios, Trieste) in March 2006, “They’ve got something not so common these days, it’s called talent” (Chimeramusic.org). Starting from the first direct but catchy melodies, the band has slowly found its own way and inspiration for a “sensual and melodic heavy rock” (Metallus.it), brought to excellence by Mik’s voice (J.P. Leppaluoto docet). In april 2006 So Cold signed an agreement with italian label Nomadism Records for the release of “Kiss the scythe” in the label’s new compilation “United forces of Phoenix” in September 2006. Since that moment the band has never stopped composing new melodies, while working hard for promoting its music and demo, taking part in radio programs, and giving several interviews published on many online fanzines, revealing itself as a “band in great shape”(Metallus.it) under many aspects. So Cold has started soon playing live shows as well, first of all was Metal Mania Open Air in Slovenia, in august 2006, where the guys finally showed all their potential as a“Solid band in the gothic metal underground scene” (Paranoid-zine.com). A touch of demo has got many reviews around the world, many of them sound great: Metal Hammer UK: 8/10 Metal.de: 8/10 ChimeraMusic.org: 8/10 MagicFireMusic.net: 15/20 Metal Revolution: 68/100 Imperiumi.net: 3 /5 At the beginning of January 2007 Jure decided to give up and to follow his personal path far away in Russia. Misfortune after misfortune and mourning after mourning the band channelled all this emotional stream in the recording of their first album at the Moonbeat Studio in Trieste. At the end of the mixing session a new guitar player entered the band. Franco played before in many local outfits as Necrosphere and Fuel From Hell. The heart of So Cold beats today in Trieste, with the intense energy of Mik, Teo, Max, Ste and Franco. Their music creates a unique atmosphere, leading you through dark dreams, deep passions and strong emotions, weakness and sorrow. Join them in their black harmony
