DESCRIPTION:
Heatwave -- John Fellows (bass / vocals), Richard Steen (lead guitar / vocals), Terry Shea (rhythm guitar / vocals), Martin H. Samuel (drums / pyrotechnics), Peter Allat (lead vocals / percussion).

The London group released Sister Simon (Funny Man) on the Larry Page Penny Farthing Records (PEN 738) in November 1970.

This A-side, and the B-side Rastus Ravel (Is A Mean Old Man), were written and produced by John Edward for Instant Sound Productions.
The 45 rpm single featured back-up vocals by Doris Troy with Maggie Stredder, Gloria George and Marian Davis (The Ladybirds) - plus, Rick Wakeman played piano on the B-side.
The B-side was re-released as track 4 on the Particles (UK) label compilation album, Piccadilly Sunshine, Part Twelve -- on 2nd April 2013.

Heatwave was a regular on the BBC Radio Terry Wogan, Dave Cash, Kenny Everett, Jimmy Young, Dave Lee Travis and Radio One Club shows in 1969, 1970 and 1971.

The California Ballroom, Dunstable, and The Cavern Club, Liverpool, were but two of many venues played where, in addition to a solid dance beat and tight vocal harmonies, the group was also known for its pyrotechnic display (fire-eating by Martin).
