Smartie-Smartguy

Due to having a bigger brother in the music game Smartie began mastering his flows before even thinking about becoming an mc. Back in 1995-1996 at a young primary school age Smartie started listening to and learning his older brother Herbzie's rhymes. As a result of learning his brothers rhymes natrually he would recite them and the more he recited them the better his flow became.



Moving on to secondary school still not even thinking of becoming a mc Smartie had a whole new audience to mc to. Rapidly the word got around to the older years 10 & 11 that there was this year 7 boy that could spit, when they heard him they gave him his ratings but he couldn't help but feel that he was getting boyed slightly because he couldn't exactly say no his not spitting, but still he loved the attention and thats when he knew it was his time to start writting rhymes of his own.



At that time a couple of Smartie's boys from school decided to start writting lyrics aswell and thats when his first unit was formed, a unit called the "Junior Mafia Crew (JMC)" which along the lines changed to "J.Mafia" and then just "J.Dot". Initially Smartie wasn't a member of this crew but worked very closely with them altough they wanted him he insisted on staying independant. The more sets they done together and the more house parties they touched mic at around the ends the more natural it became and he had no choice but to join. At this stage and for a long while after J.Dot was the most talked about on the ends along with another crew called "Top Status" (where Doctor & Drastick came from) who they also worked with closely.
