Let's say hello to our friends "down under" with this orchestral version of Peter Allen's "I Go To Rio" - a hit for Allen back in 1977 (The song was originally released in 1976) Many people will also remember Claude François' version of which the video was broadcast on European TV channels quite often in those days.
In 1979 the song became a hit in the US for the group "Pablo Cruise" and in 1980 the piece was featured on the Muppet Show with guest star Diana Ross performing (part of) the song. The composition has appeared (either in part or complete) in several movies as well since it's first release in '76.
