Celebrated as the "Most Outstanding College Vocal Jazz Choir" by DownBeat magazine, Mt. San Antonio College's "Singcopation" is one of the nation's premier vocal jazz ensembles. Formed in 1997 by its director Bruce Rogers, Singcopation consists of 12 exceptional auditioned jazz vocalists. Over the years, the group has performed numerous concerts at Mt. SAC and local venues, and their credits also include performances at the:



- American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) California Vocal Jazz Workshop

- SCVA Vocal Jazz Competition

- Reno Jazz Festival at the University of Nevada

- 2001 International Association of Jazz Education (IAJE) in New York City

- 2002 Western Division Convention in Hawaii

- 2003 IAJE Convention in Toronto, Canada

- 2005 IAJE Convention in Long Beach, California

- 2008 Canadian Rocky Mountain Music Festival in Banff, AB, Canada

- 2010 Next Generation Festival Vocal Jazz Division in Monterey, CA

- (upcoming) 2010 Monterey Jazz Festival



Singcopation has earned a variety of honors and awards from various vocal jazz competitions, including four DownBeat magazine awards as the nation's "Most Outstanding College Vocal Jazz Choir" (2001, '02, '04 and '05). This exceptional group has performed with Darmon Meader of the "New York Voices" as well as the Kristin Korb Trio. Come hear Singcopation perform live at Mt.
