About Simon: "My name is Simon Kempston and I'm an Edinburgh, Scotland based singer-songwriter and leading acoustic fingerstyle guitarist performing original and contemporary acoustic folk/blues songs and material.

To let you know a little more about me, I am an established, well known face on the acoustic, folk and songwriting circuit around the UK and have performed at many of the major venues, folk & blues clubs & festivals there. Highlights of my performing career thus far in the UK & Ireland have included appearances at Celtic Connections, the Acoustic Festival of Great Britain, Ronnie Scott's, the Maryport Blues Festival, Sligo Live, Fairport Convention's Cropredy Festival, live performances on BBC Radio & BBC at the Edinburgh Festival, as well as annual appearances at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe (sell-out shows). For the past four years I have also conducted extensive tours upon mainland Europe, performing headline shows in more than fifteen countries, becoming a familiar face on the continental acoustic and Festival circuit, as well as touring North America.

I am currently appearing both as a solo artist, and with a small ensemble, and last year released my latest album 'A Fine Line' (engineered and produced by Ian McCalman of the McCalmans). The album is receiving regular airplay on BBC Radio across the UK and has been very well received by reviewers, picking up great write-ups in newspapers & magazines across the UK. My brand new album for 2015 'The Last Car' also produced by Ian has just been released.
