DESCRIPTION:
This Hawkwind cover is from the church's 1999 release, "A Box of Birds", a "one-off recording" which the band paid homage to a few of their favourite tunes.

Covers can be either interesting or unimaginative. The church here managed to re-invent the songs by remaining faithful to the originals while retaining their own trademark sounds. It is also interesting to have a glimpse into their roots. Marty once remarked that one of the most memorable live he has ever seen is Hawkwind's, "around the Space Ritual time". No doubt they had fun creating this album.
