The Silent Majority - Frightend girl.wmv - Video
PUBLISHED:  Nov 13, 2011
DESCRIPTION:
This group had a number of incarnations. Victor Drayton, Jerry Akines, Ernie Brooks, Reginald Turner, and Johnny Bellman started off in philly as the Formations hitting big on the UK club scene with the pounding ' at the Top of the stairs' before becoming the Corner boys and subsequently the Silent Majority. The tender 'Frightend girl' was the flip to 'Colors of my love' issued in 1971. After the end of Hot Wax the metamorphosed into Hot Ice, recording for Heavy Duty and Atlantic, but without - Brooks - went into the songwriting business in a big way. They wrote 'Dont let the green grass fool you' for Wilson Pickett as well as a host of other titles for both indigenous philly artists like the Futures, and also many of the singers who came to philly hoping that the musical magic would rub off on them.
