Sound Tribe Sector Nine's full 2 hour set on friday, day 2 of the Re:Generation Festival at Horning's Hideout near Portland, OR. Bands in order of appearance are Big Gigantic, Lynx, STS9, Paper Diamond, Bassnectar, and Tycho. The whole evening/weekend was sick. Murph and Phipps played in a Pink Floyd cover band in the morning before I got there, and as I was leaving Tycho heading back to my car, I hear some cool tunes spinning at a beer garden nearby, turns out it was Murph throwin down a few hour DJ set (too bad my battery was dead). A very intimate festival, I hope it happens again next year. One of my files during the STS9 set got corrupted, so I'm missing Somesing and Luma Daylight, which bummed me out alot, but it's gone diddly on. Someone else taped the missing Somesing here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egi8PQlFrt4 . STS9 is my fav band, has been for over a decade now, I remember seeing them in '99 at High Sierra Music Festival wondering who these dreadies were making techno music :) By the time they played High Sierra in '00, with zach playing a drum kit that was attached to his body, and the crowd being so huge it blocked surrounding areas near the stage, I was hooked. Fond memories of the fox theatre/mishawaka run in '04, Amsterdam in '06 (I've been to Europe twice now, once to do The Grateful Dead '90 tour, and Tribe, shows you where my priorities are:), flying back from Holland and being put in the seat next to Hunter's girlfriend, the Santa Cruz Hemp Allstars in '01, driving like a bat outta hell from the bay area to the Bear Valley ski resort in '03 for what was going to be an epic all night fest in a ski resort, and Alpine county fucked us and wouldn't let them play without an on-site doctor, ah well at least the rest of the Tamarack festival was amazing, tribe camping with the rest of us and playing all day in a makeshift solar stage at their campground. Shitloads of shows on the West coast, can't even begin to count, driving up to Arcata to see them at a rec center, crazy Sea of Dreams new years runs at the Regency, you name it. Some days I miss the crystals on stage and the Anthony Ward flower arrangements, other days I love where they are heading. I miss seeing band members at Royal Taj indian food or Asian Rose sri lankan food in Santa Cruz, but they are much busier these days. I always wonder where they ended up buying property in Bonny Doon (Santa Cruz mountains) when I drive through on occasion. STS9 is by far the best electronica band in the world, since no one else can make this music with all real musicians. I don't know if anyone has noticed, but Murph is playing like his life depended on it, he is DIFFERENT, the intensity is humbling. I'm so happy Murph is better, my life would be so fucking boring without my fav band.

1320records.com is offering a FREE download of STS9 at 320k mp3 of their recent Hangout Festival performance in Alabama, you should jump on it while it's there, deals like that don't last forever. The FLAC was only $2.50 which is super cheap so I grabbed that. http://digital.1320records.com/search/release.php?release_id=950
