The Sidewinders - We Don't Do That Anymore - Video
PUBLISHED:  Aug 15, 2015
DESCRIPTION:
The first track on Auntie Ramos’ Pool Hall (1990).

The pace of our lives’
Slowed down a bit
From a few years ago
Your torn fishnets
And the melting mess
That we’d ignore
Now I’m not a child
You’ve paid the rent
And what do you know?
All that time
Just wasting time
It’s come and gone
The noise from the tape deck
Was mostly drowned out
By the buzz from the wine
We can sit around for hours
Nothin’ but drinks
And things on our minds
But now things have changed
We’re growin’ up
And what do you know?
We miss that time
Still wastin’ time
It’s come undone
Staying up all night
We don’t do that anymore
Money was always tight
But we don’t need that anymore
Send me down a sign
But we should take our time
We’ll forget what we’ve learned
You can’t go home
But that’s not our concern
The pace of our lives’
Slowed down a bit
From a few years ago
We’re figuring out
But then sometimes I admit
I just don’t know
Now I’m not a child
You’ve paid the rent
And what do you know?
We spent that time
Just wasting time
It’s come and gone
Stayin’ up all night
But we don’t do that anymore
Money was always tight
But we don’t need that anymore
Send me down a sign
I’ll try
We’ll just take our time
We’ll forget what we’ve learned
You can’t go home
But that’s not our concern
