DESCRIPTION:
Siamese Dream is the second album by the American alternative rock band The Smashing Pumpkins, released on July 27, 1993 on Virgin Records. The album fused diverse influences such as grunge, shoegazing, dream pop, heavy metal, and progressive rock.

Siamese Dream earned The Smashing Pumpkins their first Grammy Award nominations. The album was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album, and the group was nominated for Best Hard Rock Performance with Vocal at the Grammy Awards of 1994. The album is frequently included in lists of the best albums of the 1990s—the Alternative Press ranked it fourth, Pitchfork ranked it 18th, and Spin ranked it 23rd. In 2003, the album was ranked number 360 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

The album was performed live in its entirety by Andy Lawson on Guitar/Lead Vocals (The Avenues), Stu McLeod on Lead Guitar and Vocals (Eskimo Joe), Chris Daymond on Lead Guitar and Vocals (Jebediah), Russell Loasby on Drums (The Autumn Isles/Michael Savage) and Paul Micheli on Bass (Evergone). The performance took place at the Newport Record Club, a series held in Fremantle (Western Australia) that celebrates a classic record, hosting many shows that have had musicians come together to pay tribute to the likes of You Am I, Supergrass, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Queen, Weezer, Nirvana to name a few.
