With the embarking of 2017, thus begins not only the dawn of a new calendar year, but also a pristine season in the world of music. This is always an exciting time, often setting the tone and offering a preview of dominant trends. Some might argue that even this early on, accurate predictions could be made about the quality of music to be released at the climax itself. If the aforementioned is true, then this latest release from Sir Fingaz of FingerzeRiddimHeatLab will serve an excellent precursor for a ground-breaking and refreshing period in Soca.

Sir Fingaz jumps out early with the grand finale of the Faze Riddim trilogy. Like its predecessors, Faze 3 is an African-rooted, uptempo melody. More prevalent in this beat however, is the unmistakable influence of Caribbean Creole. The Dominican-born producer combines the distinct sounds of his homeland with that of the Motherland to generate a unique, catchy, almost-signature blend of genres. Although by definition, this falls into the category of Soca, there are equally strong components of Bouyon and Afrobeat not to be ignored. In this diverse harmony, incorporation of instruments like the conch shell and accordion all merge seamlessly to create what can only be described as a rhythmic masterpiece!

To date, 3 artistes have exhibited their talent on this riddim. With a lineup boosting allstars such as Blaxx, Lavaman, along with Mikey and Blood, Faze 3 has all the elements in place to generate automatic hits. Very seldom does the combination of such musical powerhouses yield anything far from perfection and no means does this project disappoint. The variation in styles and delivery of the featured artistes have produced singles that range greatly, but are all equally impressive. Individual tracks as well as the comprehensive riddim will undoubtedly do damage for countless seasons to come. This noteworthy contribution exceeds the expectations of music. It goes deeper than mere auditory ecstasy, first communicating with the soul and then the waistline!!!
