Loud and quiet: the album. This monster of a record is just as solemn as it is playful, and it is solemn. This album and A Minor Forest in general draws comparisons to Slint, but the only similarity is in Flemish Altruism's first track, which vaguely sounds like Breadcrumb Trail. But it's clear members of A Minor Forest Erik Hoversten, Andee Connors, and John Trevor Benson, have their own agenda in mind when it comes to music. Blood curdling screams, muted basses, mournful cellos courtesy of Dominique Davison, Flemish Altruism is its own beast and it is a positively ferocious beast. The Loneliest Enuretic is some of the most raw angst to be put to music.
