This is the Prelude to Act 1 from the Tostado Productions film of the world premiere production of Philip Westin's New American Opera, "Marie's Orchard." Soprano Shira Renee Thomas sings the role of Marie, Tenor Benjamin Bunsold sings the role of Emil, and Baritone Abdiel González sings the role of Marie's husband, Frank. Rounding out the principal roles are Baritone Jay Stephenson as Anthony and Soprano Adrien Roberts as Angelique. Brian Onderdonk conducts and Librettist Dylan F. Thomas directs the production that includes the Center Stage Opera Chorus and Orchestra.
Thomas's libretto for the opera, set in Nebraska in 1892, was inspired by the novel "O Pioneers!" by Willa Cather. Independent Filmmaker Alex D'Lerma captured the fully-staged production by Center Stage Opera that took place at the Los Angeles Madrid Theatre in June 2011.

Please note that all scenes from the entire opera are posted on You Tube Playlist "Marie's Orchard Complete Opera."
