At the age of 14, DeJaye‟s professional musical career began to blossom in the Church of God in Christ where his family attended. DeJaye began a serious interest for plating the keyboard and under the tutelage of his cousin, Maestro" Garlan McCrater, his gift was cultivated. At the age 18 he realized that this was gift from God and submitted his life to Christ. While attending Wilberforce University in Ohio, he founded the New
Voices in Praise Gospel Choir & the male sextet "1 Accord". In 1999, DeJaye relocated to California to further pursue his music ministry. Since there, along with the guidance of such pillars as Bishop Kenneth Wells & Pastor Phillip Powell, DeJaye has expanded from a mere writer & musician, to a Minister of Music & Worship Leader. He has since, shared the stage with such artists as: Marvin Winans, Marvin Sapp, Donnie
McLurkin, Brent Jones, Shervonne Wells (Kurt Carr Singers), and has even appeared on the Dr. Bobby Jones Gospel Show with Bishop Kenneth Wells & RMC. DeJaye‟s extraordinary writing, arranging & composing abilities have taken him from recomposing his Baccalaureate graduation song; to writing & recording two solo albums: "The Gospel According to Soul" & "The Good News Is..." Each Album is a masterpiece in its own right and has captivated listeners everywhere. A man, singer, a writer, a minstrel, an artist, a father & a barer of Christ‟s gospel; DeJaye is a servant with a gift to the world.
