Sheb Wooley - Are You Satisfied? (1955) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Sep 16, 2011
DESCRIPTION:
Charted at #95 on Billboard Hot 100 in December 1955. Sheb's first charting record. His next was his biggest, "The Purple People Eater" which got to #1 in June 1958. In the '60's, he had some hits on the Country charts, with the biggest being the #1 Country hit, "That's My Pa" in January 1962 (#51 on the Hot 100). "Are You Satisfied?" also charted at #78 for Toni Arden in February 1956 (which I've also posted), #11 for Rusty Draper in December 1955 (which I've also posted), and #10 on the R&B chart for Ann Cole in 1956.

Original Billboard review: "Arrangement of this interesting blues ballad is taken right out of the current R&B groove. Wooley chants it effectively and the side should have interest in more than one field. Good jukebox wax." Billboard rating: 75 out of 100.

Written by Homer Escamelia and Sheb Wooley.

B-side is "Humdinger".
