DESCRIPTION:
The new Shaw JCM 20 was developed in response to a customer's request for an amp that would deliver the high gain classic rock tones at a level that would keep the neighbors from complaining and the cops away from your door. The result is a high gain 12AX7 master volume preamp coupled to a 20 watt 6V6 Class AB power section. Throw in some Mercury Magnetics transformers, a six position tone contour switch, and the usual Shaw point to point wiring and the magic begins to happen. Front panel controls include a high and low input, volume, fat switch, master, treble, middle, bass, and presence. On the back, a six position contour switch and outputs for 4, 8, 16 ohm speakers. The low input also allows the player to bypass a stage of tube gain and use the amp for a much cleaner, less aggressive sound when needed. All of these features make this an extremely versatile amp with just the right amount of power for most of today's lower volume environments.
