DESCRIPTION:
Nashville based experimental chamber folk band Lylas have been around for about a decade. They feature a cast of characters, but center around the work of singer/songwriter Kyle Hamlett. Their sounds are laid back and often haunting and match well with their beautifully abstract lyrical musings.

We met up with the band before a Sunday brunch show at Willie's Locally Known in Lexington, KY. We actually walked across the street to an old mansion that was once owned by a doctor, but now houses a printing company. On the side of the building is a small pet grave under a large tree. The grave is "Smiley Pete," which was a neighborhood dog and fixture of the community for many years. The band performed "Stars Fell Down" in such an interesting arrangement. Enjoy!
