Deep House is a very chilled and relaxed type of music that uses a lot of synthesizer sounds, keyboards, bass and a variety of other instruments. Deep house focuses on portraying emotions in its melodies, which are mostly instrument driven, with vocals adding some flavour every now and again. Deep House music sometimes has a few uneasy sounding elements which add to the emotional feel of the genre.
It is “deeper” than house music, slower and often allows for more reflection on life when heard. Deep house is food for your soul, it is relaxed music, friendly music and it is greatly loved by those that have found and experienced the soulful beauty that this music portrays.


Deep house is a subgenre of house music that started in Chicago in the 1980s. It tends to draw elements from lots of different musical genres, including R&B, soul, funk, jazz. downtempo/lounge, etc, and tends to have more rhythmic elements and emphasis on the subtle, including the percussion and pads used in producing tracks. Deep house tracks generally have a tempo of between 120 and 130 BPM, contrasting with the slower hip hop and faster electronic-techno rave music.


It is more about the emotion, the way the music makes you feel as much as the way it sounds. Yes the bass frequency tends to be lower & the instrumentation is eloquent, the vocals, if there are any, are more likely to be intelligent & evocative, but vocals aren't compulsory. Electric pianos are commonly used to create those jazzy sounds, and adds more of a human touch to house music compared to many other house subgenres.
