Robot Needs Oil - Kiwis, Apples & Limes - Canal Auditif
Robot Needs Oil sets a very warming sound, melting latino vibes with hallucinated synths - (so hallucinated they almost seem /or/ could have been thrown by an organist who would have swallowed an ostie soaked in LSD) - and a heady line of piano creating a furious mambo with jazzy accents.

CANAL AUDITIF’s second release confronts this original track made by the english artist Greg Kobe to its alternative versions remixed by Patrice Baumel, resident DJ for the Trouw in Amsterdam, the Italian duet Discodromo, in charge of the Cocktail d’Amore parties and label in Berlin, the Parisian DJ and producer Timid Boy, founder of the french label Time has Changed Records, the Wankers from Nîmes, aka Seb Genre & Freaky Justin, Synthetic Jacques, our resident DJ already known for his collaboration with Kollektive Turmstrasse, and Canal Auditif founder DJ Yohm.

Recent guest of Canal Auditif Special Editions, the DJ-producer Patrice Baumel /was seduced by our concept and/ drops a breakaway version, poles apart from the original, offering his deeper tech-house remix with synths giggling and fresh layers of sound sweeping the original linear atmosphere. A glowing tribute to the first hours of house music.

Timid Boy, taking the opposite view to the original track, starts in a tough techno and real hard groove style. He reworks the the richness of its themes, scraping it, as so many reminders of bands that have marked his debut , like The Drum Club.

Discodromo, gives us an aerial version that shall head off to the stars, while using a soulful groove to bring back our feet down to any wet and superheated dancefloor. Their remix drifts on sulphuric melodies and extract the essence of a mesmerizing journey beyond the borders of our stratosphere.

The Wankers electrotech remix delivers a merciless beat first intended to create tension. The Hammond organ then recalls the original's carefree vibes to lead gradually to a more and more relaxed atmosphere tinged with romanticism. The most intimate version, almost intended to be danced eyes in the eyes.

Undoubtedly the most psychedelic remix, Synthetic Jacques exports the track into the stars by generating a galactic atmosphere out of a mesmerizing tech-house. With a romantic and slightly acid touch, his version throws you into its multiplication of effects, resonances and echoes, playing with an obsessing rythm to go through foggy paths, taking things on a trans-goa trip in slow motion.
