The Seamy Side
There will always be some things that we like to hide
The Seamy Side
There will always be someone suspicious at night

But why bother
When another
Tries to cover up his crimes

The Seamy Side
There will always be eccentric thoughts on our minds
The Seamy Side
There will always be blokes drawing outside the lines

But why bother
When warm butter's
slippin' off the sharpened knife

Through your lighted little window pane
You've seen shades of grey goin' down the lane
Their sins all sorted out by your keen eye
Their souls already prejudiced to die

The croissants crumblin´ on your lap
The close exhalin´ of your breath
In between the frames d´un film noir
Caused you´ve missed the flames in your reflection roar

But why bother
When another
Prefers shadows above light
Well just maybe,
Because there seem
To be troubles out of sight
