STURLA is a singer/songwriter from pompton plains N.J. he is known for performing acoustic shows in the north jersey area and is mostly known as the bass player for his former band TWEED STURLA has opened up for national acts such as DAVID LEE ROTH,CHEAP TRICK,BAD COMPANY,JOAN JETT during is years in TWEED After stepping away from the music scene nearly ten years besides a short stint with a cover band named faceplant where he was the front man STURLA Is back in the studio working on acoustic album titled Ten Years of Therapy. The single song featured is titled 8 Days, The song is based on actual events that started on the 22nd of September 2004. STURLA'S younger brother STFF. SRGNT. JAMES STURLA was severely injured IRAQ after he and his fellow marines came under attack near the Al Anbar Province. The song 8 days is based on true emotions and respect for what his brother and all the men and women in the armed forces stand for. After 27 surgeries and 24 months later STURLA'S brother returned to Iraq. " its hard enough to say good bye once and recieve the phone call 8 days later, but to say good bye twice is probably the hardest thing i've ever had to deal with" says STURLA. Somewhere in mid january the song 8 days will be printed as a single and be sold through fundraisers organized by FAMILY AND FRIENDS FOR FREEDOM FUND. This is an orginization that was started by the Sturla family after Stff. Srgnt Sturla was injured. STURLA will be donating 100% of the proceeds to the fund.
