Wood was born in 3rd ward @St. Joseph's hospital under his premature status of 7 months old.He was raised in the middle class lifestyle until the crack epidemic hit.That's when the times got hard and his family of 7 boys moved from a 2 story home to a one bedroom shot-gun house.His father past away when he was 15 years old & his mother beacame addicted to crack when he was 10.Tragically, he was raised by the streets and seeing so much as a kid, he felt the need to use his imagination to run from reality.And soon he found he had a gift to write poetry & jot down his own raps while in his 9th grade English class.Motivated by his own talents & a show called "Rap City";a star was born at the age of 15.His 1st rap group was called New Horizon, it included football teammates Mike Simmons and Gary Smith they produced a demo & held concerts at local teen clubs like ETC and Metronome in 1989.They changed the group name to H2O & opened up for acts like the Convicts,the Geto Boys, & Street Military.He moved from 3rd ward to the southeast side & from the east to Mo.City and joined a group called The HALF DEAD ORGANIZATION w/(SMITTYROE ,J.P., AND FOE).They produced a demo , a album, & opened up a whole new rap style for the south called tongue twistin.Soon after that in the late 90's, he began going to Dj Screw 's house to go heads up with some of the best MC's in the Screwed Up Click. Following his group album with his solo debut WOOD "AGAINST THE GRAIN".After the Screw tapes, promotional commercials, & a cameo on Yungstars video"Knockin Pictures of da Wall";he became a household name.And, By 2000 the southern region had created thier own buzz,so despite the differences between him and the record companySTRAIGHT PROFIT;WOOD pushed on with his second solo "OUT OF THE WOODWORK" on CAT DADDY RECORDS.Considering his frequent stops to the slammer he has yet to reach his peak.He's never been out long enough to help or reap the benefits of marketing ,promotion, tours, and of coures album sales.But now he's home and he's going for the throne.WOOD has 3 new undergrounds 1.
