Brisbane pop punk band I Am Villain was formed during the spring of ‘09. Although the 5 piece have only been together for a short time, their dynamic infusion of pop-punk and melodic hardcore have started to make waves in the music scene. The members Andy Power (vocals), Peter Eckel (guitar/vocals), Lewis Usher (guitar/vocals), Scott Eckel (drums) and Brett Galea (bass) all come from different musical backgrounds ranging but not limited to punk, hardcore and classical/orchestral training; which in turn adds to the inventiveness of their sound.

Drawing influences from such bands as Blink-182, Four Year Strong and Set Your Goals, one gets a sense of what to expect. However, they continue to surprise and impress the crowds with their creative spin and energetic live shows. As Jean-Luc Godard said “It’s not where you take things from - it’s where you take them to.”

After only a handful of shows, I Am Villain can already boast an impressive resume of supports from having shared the stage with US pop-punk stars Mest as their first ever live show. Landing a support show with US pop punk band Fireworks on their recent tour of Australia as well as established Australian groups including Short Stack, Heroes for Hire, Ellington, Stealing O'Neal and The MIssion In Motion just to name a few.

Their debut six track EP “One Night, One Victim” comes out early December through Taperjean/Shock and was recorded at Loose Stone Studios on the Gold Coast and features guest vocals from Jake Bosci (Ellington), Chris Scott (Stealing O'neal) and Brett Islaub (The Mission In Motion). The first single “Frankly My Dear, I Don’t Give A Damn” has been released to an overwhelmingly positive response from fans and has certainly stirred some attention within the industry.
