Robbie was a control freak and knew exactly how he wanted it to sound. Mariska had a perfect voice for his goal, to be intercontinental accepted. For At Home he got his inspiration by folk-music, Greece, Israel and Spain.
At first, Mariska did not wanted to join Shocking Blue, because she just had a new band and she loved to play with them. But Robbie wanted her very much and finaly she agreed to join Shocking Blue. Klaas found her voice amazing. I am a woman should have been the 3 single, but when Robbie performed with Shocking Blue in Germany in a disco, Robbie wanted to record a more dancable song for a single and Venus was born. Venus was recorded in a few days and only costed 1600 guilders(about 700 euros know).
