DESCRIPTION: 4 years ago yesterday, I was recovering in HDU after a six hour long operation to remove 15 tumours from my stomach and surrounding tissue. Due to location of my tumours over 56% of my stomach was also removed. When people ask me about my cancer and the experiences, I tend to leave out the scary stuff but seens as Sarcoma Awareness Week is here, I have decided to share with you my entire journey. Enjoy. Its not rare, if you are aware.
Extra information. I was diagnosed with pediatric GIST, which is a form of sarcoma. In 2009, when more tumours were found on my lungs and in my oesophagus, I was diagnosed with the much rarer Carney Triad Stratikis. Still the only pediatric case in the whole of Scotland, ten years after diagnosis.
