When I Was Dead - Video

DESCRIPTION:
When I Was Dead written by Charlie Glasspool. Performed by Sarah McInnis and Charlie Glasspool on Saturday May 26, 2007 at the Peterborough Museum, Peterborough, Ontario. This is an excerpt from a show being developed by a group called 3c84 which includes Charlie Glasspool, Dan Fortin and Laurie Deratnay. Charlie says "the project is my weirdo response to a recent scientific discovery...there is a black hole in the perseus galaxy cluster (far away!) which has been emitting a Bb note 57 octaves below middle C on a piano...this super sub bass note has been sounding for eons...perhaps forever...this fascinating discovery called many questions to my mind, especially as a musician and composer...the power of this note is also able to heat gases in the galaxy cluster...in essence, it is an active and creative force. is this note some sort of a musical big bang? these are the sorts of questions i want to investigate in a 57 minute long suite (a minute for every octave) of songs, fragments, incidental music, pre-recorded samples etc.." I was invited to videotape the world premiere of a total of 12 new songs. When Sarah McInnis sang the beautiful "When I Was Dead" fireworks went off in the background, beautiful and perfectly timed. I didn't dare turn the camera around so I added the stock footage of the fireworks. Then I knew I was making some kind of music video. I pretty much stumbled into making it; like I always do. Peace and light. All the greatest, Lester
