' Working with Sam and his music has always been challenging and this animation was no exception. Not because Sam is a difficult character, quite the opposite, but that his music evokes complicated feelings for me . Likewise when we worked togther on the album artwork, it took several attempts to illustrate the layers that the music represents.
Aswell as the music I used Piranesi's imagined/futuristic prisons as inspiration. I'd recently watched 'Clockwork Orange' for the first time, and in hindsight this also had an effect.' AL 2011
