DESCRIPTION:
The Bonnaroo SuperJam is known for 'over the top' surprises. When R. Kelly took the stage at 1:30AM the audience responded with a collective gasp before erupting in celebration. This was uncharted territory for both the band members and R. Kelly as they had never met one another before, let alone played music together in front of a packed crowd. Expectations were high on both sides of the stage. This episode actually includes the moment that Jim James meets R. Kelly for the first time on the side of the stage before they emerged together for the encore. After a 2 hour legendary performance with his band, R. Kelly still had enough left in the tank to deliver top notch vocals on two Sam Cooke classics "A Change is Gonna Come" and "Bring It On Home". This kind of stuff just doesn't happen anywhere but Bonnaroo.
