No Maps is about learning to accept the world as it is and not let it get you down. Because there are going to be pitfalls and sharp turns and abrupt stops, but you can't let that interfere with how you see the world and where you want to end up in life. I got the inspiration late one night when I was 16. The lyrics just came to me in a sudden burst and I had to write them down. At the time, I was taking guitar lessons, but the only guitar I had to use was at least 30 years old, and wasn't in the best condition, but I put chords to it anyway. When my amazing Grandparents bought me my fender (guitar in the video), the song just came to life.
