Bio By She Rox All Female Bands: Seattle based all female band Dickless, although the band released only a handful of singles, their mark in music history and large cult following surpass the lack of music selections they left behind. At a time when glam metal was fizzling out in popularity, a movement of much more raw, underground bands were emerging mainly out of Seattle, a sound like none before bands like Nirvana, Alice in Chains, were the alternative to glam metal in the late eighties and early nineties. Dickless were at the forefront of this movement along with these bands, signed to the infamous SubPop records, Dickless soon gained a strong following for their abrasive , raw, and gritty sound, however much like anything new and different and goes against the grain of what society feels is "normal" Dickless was far from all girl cutesy pop bands in the early 1990's and they were indeed,
either a band that was liked or disliked, but to doubt their contribution to music is irrefutable, decades before metalcore became more mainstream, vocalist Kelly Canary opted to scream her vocals as opposed to singing, this however in time forced her to retire from music due to the damage done to her vocal chords, shortly after in 1996 founding the Dickless like band, Teen Angels, along with Dickless drummer Lisa Smith.
