The live recording of Appalachian Octet from Auckland playing Kiwi in Appalachia by Ryan Youens (inspired by Copland) as a demonstration performance in the 2014 National Final in Christchurch.

The ensemble were the 2014 National Award winners of the Best Performance of a New Zealand Work, in association with SOUNZ and CANZ.

The NZCT Chamber Music Contest is the longest running youth music competition in New Zealand and is the only nationwide chamber music competition for young secondary school musicians and composers in the country.
