Travel by Train is a new indie rock band out of Atlanta, whose members include lead singer, guitarist, and keyboardist Kelly Taylor, guitarist Ryan Steinwedel, bassist Mark Sims, and drummer Noel Goff. Their collaboration began when Taylor and Steinwedel started writing a few songs on their own before teaming up with Sims and Goff -- old friends who had been in previous bands and projects with Steinwedel in Norcross, GA, where they grew up. From the start, as they began playing and recording together, they realized a strong chemistry that melded their distinct musical concepts. Being influenced by a wide range of styles -- including classic rock, jazz, indie rock, pop, etc -- the band has cultivated an eclectic sound with a diverse range of unique songs that will keep the crowd moving. Travel by Train offers listeners a balanced variety of songs marked by a sense of dynamic evolution with undertones of The Pretenders, Radiohead, Fleetwood Mac, Feist, and Cat Power. Taylor's voice has been compared to the likes of female vocalists such as Stevie Nicks, Chrissy Hines, and Natalie Merchant, with a songwriting ability to match. Relatively new to music, her natural ability comes through in both live and studio settings, while her band consists of seasoned musicians who have played many styles, each with histories of playing in other bands. This band will keep you wanting more.
