"Rusty's Song" by Molly Jeanne - Video
PUBLISHED:  May 08, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
This song was written by Molly, her mom and our friend Rusty Smith. Rusty has watched a man on the beach everyday in Florida and made a post on Facebook which was the impetus to writing this song. After some back and forth collaboration over the internet, the song came to life.

Lyrics:
He's got his stuff in just 10 bags
He moves them two by two
Travels up and down the beach
All day, it's what he'll do

Want to ask if I can help
The light is getting dim
But I can tell he doesn't want his bags
Touched by anyone but him

He may not be going anywhere,
But he just hates standing still
He hasn't given up yet
He's just tired of dreams unfulfilled

I say hello, get a nod
But then he just moves on
He's not looking for a friend
Sees no need for conversation

Wonder how he got here
And what his life's been like
Does he have a family?
Did he have a wife?

He may not be going anywhere,
But he just hates standing still
He hasn't given up yet
He's just tired of dreams unfulfilled

I think about how close I've been
To losing everything
How many steps are we away
from the world this guy lives in?

We feel sorry for him but you know
Some people like it simple
Maybe he's happy
with the way it is
Maybe he's just happy with the way it is
