UNDA, the upcoming sophomore album from RS5pb (Ruike Shinpei 5 piece band) following the live recording 4AM, is their first studio record!

Shinpei Ruike, who is firmly establishing his reputation as the No.1 young trumpeter by receiving rave acclaim from numerous outlets, is releasing a new album, which is a rock-tinged work of ten ambitious tunes including nine original tunes created with his band RS5pb. The sole cover is the intriguing and daring rendition of “Maiysha”, reincarnating Miles Davis’ 1974 masterpiece Get Up With It in these times!

While following and inheriting the continuous history of jazz trumpet starting as way back as Louis Armstrong and by way of Miles Davis, Ruike unleashed his sensibility as a young man living in the present times to incorporate a variety of musical elements and create an innovative work of art that would puncture the current music scene in Japan and the world.

Technical wise, this album was recorded on PCM 32bit / 96KHz to realize an elaborate yet vigorous sound, whereas the previous album was recorded on DSD. Comparing the two recording systems is something to enjoy.

RS5pb (Ruike Shinpei 5 piece band)による、前作ライヴ盤「4 AM」に次ぐ第2弾作品にして、初のスタジオ録音盤となる作品「UNDA」が登場！

多方面から非常に高い評価を受け、若手No.1トランペッターの名を不動のものとしつつある類家心平が放つニュー・アルバムは、自らが率いるバンドRS5pbによるオリジナル9曲を含む全10曲収録のロック色溢れる意欲作。唯一のカバーは、マイルス・デイヴィス1974年の名作「Get Up With It」に収録された＜Maiysha＞を現代に蘇らせるという魅力的、且つ大胆なカバー！

古くはルイ・アームストロングに始まり、マイルス・デイヴィスを通して現代に脈々と流れるジャズ・トランペットの歴史を踏襲・継承しつつ、今を生きる若者の感性で、様々な音楽的要素を取り入れた、現在の日本、そして世界の音楽シーンに一石を投じる革新的な作品がここに誕生した。
