J Prozac - "A Boy and His Bike" Jolly Ronnie Records - A BlankTV World Premiere!

Artist city, country: Westfield, Massachusetts, USA

Artist Biography: J Prozac is a Massachusetts based singer/songwriter with over 15 years of experience bringing catchy tunes to the local and national punk rock scene. He is the lead vocalist/guitarist/songwriter of The Prozacs, a band he started in 2001. The Prozacs established a reputation as one of the hardest working bands in the pop-punk scene: touring extensively while putting out 3 full-length albums and several split, EP and comp releases. The band has brought their live act to dozens of stages and festivals such as CBGB's, Vans Warped Tour, Continental NYC and Insubordination Fest - sharing the stage with The Queers, Teenage Bottlerocket, Marky Ramone, The Misfits, Copyrights, Squirt Gun, The Casualties, Agent Orange and Big Wig, among many others.

As the band slowed down, J Prozac started a solo project to provide an outlet for a collection of songs featuring a distinct pop-punk sound blending infectious melody, catchy vocal harmonies and lyrics reflecting his passions in life -- friends, family, love and music. After a few years of hitting the studio in between Prozacs shows and recordings, he put the finishing touches on "Here Is My Heart", his full-length debut album coming out December 2013 on Jolly Ronnie Records. The songs on the album show the true range of J Prozac's vocal ability, and the sound pulls influence from some of his musical heroes, including Screeching Weasel, The Riverdales, Dan Vapid and The Cheats and Mr. T Experience.

Make sure to pick up your copy of "Here Is My Heart" in December 2013 on Jolly Ronnie Records (http://www.jollyronnierecords.com) and check out the first music video from the album -- A Boy and His Bike, showing exclusively on BlankTV. About The Video: As a veteran BMX rider from the late 80's thru the early 2000's, I was inspired to write this simple little song in the spirit of a fading relationship with my bicycle. The props used in the video are memorabilia, BMX video's and magazines from my personal collection, documenting the mid 90's of my BMX years. The idea was a walk down memory lane, remembering back on the good times and the bond and relationship that one has with his bike. In a way it's kind of meant to be comical, but also there is a deep seated love for where the lifestyle of BMX has brought me over the span of my life. The intro of the video came from the SCUM CLOTHING 1201 BMX video by Stew Johnson. It was an important video of the mid 90's and had an extremely huge influence in my starting Loose Clothing, a BMX clothing company, as well as discovering thru the soundtrack what would become my favorite bands in a new world of music and friendship. Most of the riding clips are actual clip of my riding from the mid 90's. Director Al Liptak suggested capturing the feel of the era with the look of an old VHS video, with some tracking and glitches. The finished video really hit the mark!
