A masterpiece of German literature signed by Bertold Brecht and Hanns Eisler. Written in Germany in 1932, in opposition to the Nazi regime, the song has become over the years one of the manifesto songs of all those who want to join the fight against social injustice and totalitarian regimes. We first listened to it thanks to the Liberation Music Orchestra by Charlie Haden and Carla Bley. It's been the closing track of our concerts for almost 10 years now, always sung in the original German language. Everytime we play it, it brings a great emotional impact on us and it's a form of membership and solidarity to the cause of those who today, anywhere in the world, still have something to fight for .

Un capolavoro della letteratura tedesca firmato da Bertold Brecht e Hanns Eisler. Scritto in Germania nel 1932, in opposizione al regime Nazista, il brano è divenuto negli anni una delle canzoni-manifesto di tutti coloro che vogliono unirsi per lottare contro ingiustizie sociali e regimi totalitari. Lo abbiamo conosciuto nella celebre versione del primo LP della Liberation Music Orchestra di Charlie Haden e Carla Bley. Da quasi dieci anni è il brano di chiusura dei nostri concerti, riproposto in lingua originale tedesca. Per noi suonarlo è sempre un momento di forte impatto emotivo ed una forma di adesione e solidarietà alla causa di chi oggi, in qualsiasi parte del mondo, deve ancora lottare per qualcosa.
