Berklee students and faculty celebrated Harry Belafonte's life and music in concert at the Berklee Performance Center. Robert Gould, Desmond Scaife Jr, and Deon Mose are featured vocalists in this performance of "Keep on Fighting." Produced by professor Larry Watson with Executive Producer Rob Rose.

Belafonte was awarded an honorary doctorate by Berklee president Roger H. Brown.

The Life and Music of Harry Belafonte: A Tribute Concert, directed by professor Larry Watson, is the culmination of a three-day celebration that includes a teach-in for the Berklee community on March 5. The teach-in will be a forum for the discussion of Belafonte's groundbreaking legacy in the areas of music, film, the civil rights movement, and human rights advocacy, and an examination of music's impact on social change.

Musician, songwriter, and social activist Harry Belafonte was a powerful voice in the civil rights and anti-apartheid movements. Directed by professor Larry Watson, Berklee students and faculty will celebrate Belafonte's life and music from "Banana Boat Song" to "We Are the World." Berklee president Roger H. Brown will award an honorary doctorate of music to Belafonte at this event in recognition of Belafonte's inspiring music and humanitarian achievements.
